Even though I didn't read this whole article as I don't really care about WoW anymore, this is the only blog that I still check regularly. WoM has turned into Ming and Jasi forcing articles to meet their contract and frankly, the past few weeks have been pretty terrible and I don't think I've read more than the title and a few lines of any of the posts.

Also, I think this blog gets a decent amount of hits. I may be wrong but it's been around for a while and its definitely got better quality articles than World of Ming and his sidekick Jasi.

This match up has changed slightly in a big way-- in that you can trinket out of blind.

If you have high hp/resi, you can tank a bit more while slowly kiting away (hoping for a few frost bite procs in the process), every time it procs spam a icelance and deal as much damage to the rogue as possible before having to iceblock.

Anticipate the vanish with your pet nova ready, if they don't vanish even after you block then they will pay for it with the pet beating on them. Should they go after the pet (or feign as such) drop block and start kiting with iceblast and icelance spam, but don't use the pet nova quite yet until they vanish or until the pet is near end of timer/mana. If they do vanish this late then they should be at least 50% hp or lower and it should be gg at this point because all they can do after you hit them out of nova is a silly blind that you can trinket out of.

Coldsnap quick to anticipate second blind/vanish and use the coldsnap nova to do damage as needed. Don't forget your shield as well.

p.s This is much easier or even trivial as a gnome mage. Poor hu mages~ wuwu

Nice guide.

But you need a plan for mutilate rogues. (41/20/0) Three root breaks and a lucky 3+K mutilate blind answer to IB. And a suprise vanish sap at the right time is a great ccc-ombo breaker. Bandages heal for 20% more. Depending on the fight I'll Deadly Throw spam with gloves till relentless stops procing.

I personally rate my rogue vs mage duels at 3 to 1, with prep being 5 to 1.

(And it's GG if the mage doesn't know I'm there)

Interesting stuff. Managing global cooldowns is an important thing in PvP, especially at a high level, so it's good to see someone taking note of it.

Keep posting this stuff, hopefully you'll get a mention somewhere (SG, World of Ming, etc) and more people will stumble across your little corner.

I first encountered your name on the recent entertainment peice produced by Ming (Wording chosen carefully), and was impressed. You play well, you know the mechanics of not only your class, but those of your opponent as well, and you speak clearly when expressing that. Upon discovering your blog, I'm dismayed at how sparse your comments are, and how little attention this site seems to be attracting so far. I believe you will be a very useful source of information on your class, and am linking you into my guild forums, as well as my bookmarks. though personally im much more of a rushdown type of guy, i just find they have way too many tools to stay close or reach closet combat for kiting to be of any value(unless molten armor is on my side <3) i play an elemental spec at the moment, and sometimes i surprise myself how much of a rushdown you can do(combustion is nice to have some guaranteed crits)

WE gets slightly boring for me in the end(i just miss my fire spells too much) though im prob gonna spec WE/fire now i read your guide and i got interested in it again hehe :P

looking forward to more stuff like this from you :)
